The Game of Chess Involving Expert Witnesses

Having a bit of experience under my belt now, I am amazed at the game of chess that is played in litigation between plaintiff and defense attorneys. On occasion I feel like a pawn being used to force a hand one way or another. Admittedly, this is part of the “game” of litigation. However, it makes it that much more perplexing when you are the expert in the middle.

I recently came upon this article (http://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/evidence-expert-witness-testimony-di-31922/?utm_source=LU_Emails) about a medical case involving an expert. This is a prime example of the game of chess or tug-of-war played between opposing sides. I had a nice little chuckle while reading. If you’ve ever been in the position of pawn, hopefully you will also.
